Chelsea have been cleared to sign Fabio Coentrao after he reportedly ruled out a transfer to Sporting Lisbon, Metro reports.
The 27-year-old has been linked with a possible move to Chelsea or Sporting Lisbon but he took to Facebook to deny rumours concerning the Portuguese club.
"Contrary to rumours that I will play for Sporting, and despite the respect I have for club, the only Portuguese club for me is Benfica," the Real Madrid defender said.
The Spanish giants are expected to replace the Portuguese with Wolfsburg's Ricardo Rodriguez.
