The representative of midfielder Jean-Michael Seri has confirmed that he met with Arsenal during last summer's transfer window.
The Ivorian is again being heavily linked with a move to the English Premier League with the Gunners and Chelsea both showing interest.
Barcelona were also interested last year.
"Unfortunately, Arsenal aren't the quickest when it comes to the transfer market," the player's representative told Sport Witness.
"It's true that I met [then-manager Arsene Wenger], we spoke about it, he said it could interest him. He would have liked there to be more departures in his midfield, because he was aware of the balance of his budget.
"When I got the offer from Barcelona, I let him know about it, but that doesn't mean they entered the fray. Unfortunately it didn't happen with Barcelona because of an ego problem between them and Nice.
"[A move this summer to Napoli?] It's true that there are possibilities in England, so we'll see, but Ancelotti has a strong image and is very respected by the players he's managed, which can be a decisive factor for Seri."
