Coach Roberto Mancini says upcoming games against Udinese, Chievo and Lazio are crucial if Internazionale are to qualify for next season's Europa League.
Win over Roma on Saturday saw the Nerazzurri leapfrog rivals Milan for 7th place and the Italian was delighted with the performance of his players at the end of the game.
"It was a very good game against a good Roma side, one of the league's strongest teams," Mancini told Sky Sport Italy.
"They [Roma] are quality but my players fought hard and won the game.
"Roma started with a very offensive line-up but we didn't drop deep and it was an entertaining game of football.
"Shaqiri, Podolski and Kovacic all did well after coming on from the bench especially Mateo [Kovacic] who was exceptional. He could play anywhere on the pitch if he plays with this attitude.
"Mauro [Icardi] is a brilliant striker but there is still room for improvement in his game. He is not afraid to miss and this is a nice feature for a player.
"[The Europa League?] It's four points away, the four points we lost against Parma and Cesena. But there are three games coming up and they are pivotal."
